bite catwalk T ones of yellow and shades of indigo blue came together harmoniously in Ulises Mérida’s’ col- lection ‘Babel’. Mysterious and chic the garments ranged in textures and tones, playing with colour and print. Sultry one shouldered chiffon wrap dresses and blouses opened the show delving into heavy satin trousers and jackets that were smart and sophisticated. Playful polka dots in blue lay against a soft lilac pink. Sophisticated silhou- ettes were played up with layers of chiffon and intricate fab- ric flowers. There was an effortless feel to the collection and its exploration of draping. Tops and dresses, playfully chic, were tied at the shoulder and waist, flowing beautifully on the catwalk. Chiffon turned to satin as the collection moved into rich purples and soft lavenders, and duchess satin and silk played together exploring structure and shapes. The brand is known for its appreciation of dressing women in clothes they would want to wear and this collection was no different in its composition of colours and fabrics that com- plemented the form in a classy way citing a woman’s dress by Ulises Mérida is enigmatic. Flourishing in the clothes that they wear; chiffon allows the freedom of movement and is captivating to the eye.
