bite cuisine the bar stands has a beautiful marble effect. Here the VIVI Bar celebrates old school bartending with classic and creative cocktails perfectly paired to the VIVI bites menu. While the main section of the dining area is in the centre, there are two lower balconies on either side accessed by side stairs and separated by glass panels with wooden panelling, that have half circle banquettes and cube chairs in a very light pink leather surrounding the golden coloured round tables. These particular areas look out to the bustling Oxford Street on one side and Saint Giles Square on the other. On a sunny day, this would be a great spot to enjoy VIVI cuisine and cock- tails while taking in the actions of the world outside. As we waited for our cocktails, after being shown to our table by the wonderful Monika, jazz fusion music played overhead and there was a very relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. The lighting was very good as well with small lights dotted around on the ceiling and several lamps positioned on the wooden head of the banquette seating. VIVI has a way of making you feel at home and with words such as ‘take your pleasure se- riously’ and ‘deliciously different’ written on the large glass windows on either side; it has a really nice touch. Some of the cocktails they do are inspired by key personalities involved in the building of Centre Point or one of the rock icons from the Swinging ‘60s. The Seifert with Brockmans Gin, rosebud syrup, pink grapefruit and lime is named after Richard Seifert, the architect of Centre Point. This sophisti- cated pink coloured cocktail was a pleasant surprise as it was garnished with pink candy floss and was delicious in taste. I thoroughly enjoyed this cocktail and must say it was my fa- vourite. For non-alcoholic drinkers, the ‘60s Pineapple Ale consists of pineapple juice, ginger ale and double cream. Admittedly VIVI RESTAURANT & BAR Jada Brookes dined at the newly opened VIVI Restaurant & Bar and is very impressed with the décor as well as the cuisine.
