Dayle Best speaks to music artist Ash Walker about his unique fusion of sound and working with other musicians from different genres. bite music W alking around in a haze of music having just had the Ash Walker Experience, it was a pleasant surprise to discover that the artist and his band were the supporting act for the notable Sly & Robbie at London's prestigious Jazz Cafe. A rhythm section and production duo known for working with such greats as Grace Jones, David Bowie, Black Uhuru and other chart toppers stemming from the ‘80s into the late ‘90s. A collaboration of sorts, beautifully complimenting each other among the astral dub planes of that of the Jamaican duo and Ash Walker’s experience. During the interlude, between discussions amongst the smoke clouds and bartenders having their breaks, Ash is also a DJ, playing far and wide from the infamous Royal Mail squat parties to the canals of Venice, spinning vinyl with back-to-back sell out dates in Brixton with The Specials to scattering dub across San Francisco, in Los Angeles.
