A Conversation with British actress Danielle Kronenberg

The Bite Magazine had a chance to catch-up with this busy British actress.

The Bite: What is some advice you would give someone aspiring to become an actor?
I think the best place to learn your craft is the theatre and being on set. One should never stop taking classes no matter how successful you become. Their is always something new to learn in this business. Work on your voice daily, it’s your tool and you need to work on it constantly. I walk around my apartment reciting Shakespeare or I’ll sing in the shower. I work on my voice for an hour in the morning, schedule permitting of course. I observe everyone around me and never know when I can use something for character. You must develop thick skin; you will get rejected time and time again, but don’t ever give up. Perseverance is key. Network, network, network and most importantly, love what you do.

The Bite: Who is your favorite actor?
That’s a difficult question to answer because it changes daily. I will always love the golden oldies like Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, Gene Wilder, Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy…I could go on and on. I think most actors today are pretty incredible, people don’t understand how hard actors work.

The Bite: You always look so great how do you stay in shape…what’s your secret?
Haha… thank you! Well, I drink a lot of water and herbal tea. I eat healthily when I’m home; chicken, fish, lots of vegetables and grains. When on set, that’s a different story. It can be a little hard when the candy comes out half way through the day on the crafty table (A buffet style table for all the cast and crew on set). Everyone knows that I love sweeties (candy). When my friends come to my apartment they always bring me sweeties or chocolate. I do yoga 3 times a week at “Yoga to the People” which is an amazing donation based school. They have classes’ throughout. I enjoy going because there’s no attitude and it gives me an hour where I’m able to reconnect and de-stress. Living in New York, I walk everywhere. On a daily basis, I probably walk 4/5 miles a day that keeps me rather fit and healthy.

The Bite: Who inspires you? Who is your role model?
I’d have to say Adele. A young woman from a broken family that worked her way to the top by pure determination and not letting anything stand in her way despite all the horrid things the press wrote about her. I love how confident she is.
