As I’m obsessed by the series Girls – which took home the Golden Globes awards of Best Comedy Series prize and Best actress in a TV comedy series – I decided to make a post of it, and nothing better than to talk about the absolutely fun, high-end dance-floor soundtrack. Lena Dunham, the show’s star and creator of the HBO series, hit the ball again with the mix of hipster mood music of Girls – Volume 1 soundtrack.

It mixes old, new, popular and indie music. When listening to the tracks, it kind of feels like your best friend Hannah Horvath made you a mixtape of all her favorite songs.

“I make playlists to write by and listen to as I head to set in the morning, and I experiment in editing with songs that the characters would love and that accurately reflect their struggles,” said Dunham in a statement.

Girls – Volume 1: Music From The HBO Original Series tracklist:

01 Robyn: Dancing on My Own
02 Fun.: Sight of the Sun
03 Harper Simon: Wishes and Stars
04 Santigold: Girls
05 White Sea: Overdrawn
06 Grouplove: Everyone’s Gonna Get High
07 Icona Pop: I Love It
08 The Echo Friendly: Same Mistakes
09 Belle & Sebastian: I Don’t Love Anyone
10 Fleet Foxes: Montezuma
11 Oh Land: White Nights

Bibiana Farenzena

I post about music that interest and inspire people, from new bands, to gigs and festivals. I also cover reviews on the latest night clubs in London and the music and PR events that happen in the heart of the city. Music is enjoyed by all kinds of people and evokes a feeling of happiness and escapism from day to day problems that life brings. What would life be without a soundtrack? There's always a perfect song for the right moment and my life has been rocked by music. I grew up listening to Rock and Roll, Bossa Nova and Samba. My professional life has a strong connection with the creativity that music brings, as it involves editorial design, audio visual productions and marketing. I have a BA in Visual Design and I am currently studying MA Design for Communication at the University of Westminster. Hope you all enjoy The Bite Magazine’s Music & Events blog. And please feel free to leave comments or information on coming gigs in your area!
