This morning we were abruptly awoken by Antoni and Alison. The music to their show was intense, ‘industrial noise’ some may call it, but this was the inspiration for their show, ‘It was an idea expressed, and an idea made’. Industrial digital printing in the form of sequins, mesh netting, chain and rope came sauntering down the catwalk featuring the most succulent of colour schemes.
Simplistic style shift dresses came pouring down the runway, each one a visual treat. Whether the dress featured feather printing, plastic printing or a brown dogtooth print, every woman wanted one. It was like the designers had brought the clothes to life. Also seen was a definite influx of floral motifs, which was exceptionally nice to see for the autumn/winter period.
Colour wise we saw these dreamy jewel colour schemes, flashes of orange upon sleeves of dresses, swirls of pinks, purples and some intense block colouring. In other words it was a modern dream, industrious yet soft in all the right places. A perfect opener for fashion week.
Overall the collection was beautiful, simply beautiful, and with the designers making a return to Fashion Week after a seven year break, they could not have designed a better opening collection.
